An effective team member for field seed research needed is needed in Virginia.  This position will consist of supporting and / or overseeing the planting and harvesting of plots, research procedures and protocols, and the management of staff.  This job consists of extensive travel.

You need to possess good communication skills, be able to delegate work, and be focused on making decisions with precision and accuracy.  The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in seed research or a seed production background with the knowledge of plant development, genetics, and data management.  The job requires outside work, physical lifting, and varying ergonomic environments.  A strong mechanical ability is needed. 

A minimum of an Associate's degree in agronomy, crop production, agriculture systems, or other relevant majors in the ag field is required. You will also need to have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL and a Pesticide and Fertilizer Applicator's License.  Experience operating farm equipment is a must.
